Republicans Sick Over Supreme Court Decision on Health Care

From the NY Times:

The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that President Obama’s health care law allows the federal government to provide nationwide tax subsidies to help poor and middle-class people buy health insurance, a sweeping vindication that endorsed the larger purpose of Mr. Obama’s signature legislative achievement.

The 6-to-3 ruling means that it is all but certain that the Affordable Care Act will survive after Mr. Obama leaves office in 2017, and has a greater chance of becoming an enduring part of America’s social safety net.

“Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to improve health insurance markets, not to destroy them,” Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. wrote for a united six-justice majority.

This was a 6-3 vote. That means even several right-wing pricks on the Supreme Court voted to uphold the law.

Justice Antonin Scalia dissented calling the majority’s reasoning “interpretive jiggery-pokery.”

What a brilliant statement by a Supreme Court justice! This moron should be representing drunks and speeders in traffic court.

Of course, John “how’s my tan” Boehner vowed to continue the fight–at least as long as lobbyist dollars keep flowing into his coffers.

Boehner’s biggest donors are the political action committees of lobbying firms, drug and cigarette makers, banks, health insurers, oil companies, military contractors, and Native American tribes.

He’s essentially a dummy sitting on the laps of lobbyists, letting them control what he says. Don’t believe a word Boehner says. No credibility.

Here’s the bottom line: Don’t all Americans deserve affordable health care?
